Your access to and use of the Website and App is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Website or App, for any reason.

By accessing or using the Website and / or App you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms then you must not access the Website or App.

COURSE DEFINITIONS

There are three main categories for courses available on our Website (collectively the “Course(s)”):

The first are monthly subscription courses. These include the ‘Level 3 Essential Mathematics for Engineers’ course, the ‘Level 3 Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering’ course, the ‘Level 3 Fundamentals of Electrical and Electronic Engineering’ course and the ‘Level 3 ND Engineering Principles’ course (collectively the “Subscription Course(s)”).

The second are Higher Education courses. These include all courses listed as ‘Level 4’ and above (collectively the “Higher Level Course(s)”).

The third are the ‘Engineers Academy Free Level 3 Sample Lessons’ (the “Sample Lessons”).

OTHER DEFINITIONS

The customer is defined as the individual placing an order for a course or programme. This may be the intended user, a parent or guardian, an employer, or an academic institution (collectively the “Customer”).

The Student is defined as the individual accessing the course content, for the purpose of studying the course or programme (the “Student”).

A Customer may place an order for multiple Students if they choose to do so.

CUSTOMER ORDERS AND CANCELLATIONS

Subscription Courses

Our Subscription Courses are billed on a subscription basis ("Subscription(s)"). You will be billed on a recurring monthly cycle. When the Customer has entered their billing information and the initial payment has been received, the Student will be able to access the Subscription Course(s) via the Student Login button and link on the Website homepage, or by downloading the App.

A Customer is entitled to cancel their Subscriptions at any time. The Student will lose access to the Subscription Course(s) at the time of cancellation.

Payment for Subscription Courses must be made through the Paypal payment gateway.

Higher Level Courses

A Student wishing to enrol on to a Higher Level Course must submit an application, which must be approved by us before the Student can enrol on to a Higher Level Course. The Student is required to complete specific Subscription Courses (“Bridging Courses”) related to the Higher Level Course, before their application can be approved. Details of the Bridging Courses for each Higher Level Course can be found on the relevant Higher Level Course pages of our Website.

Students enrolling on to Higher Level Courses will receive an invoice for the payment of Course Fees. It is the Student’s responsibility to ensure that the Customer pays the fees in accordance with the Terms detailed on the invoice.

We reserve the right to decline any application, for any reason.

Sample Lessons

No payment is required to access the Sample Lessons. The Student will be required to submit their Name and Email Address (“Opt-in”, “Opted-in”), which will be entered in to an Email Autoresponder, maintained by GetResponse.com.

After a Student has Opted-in they will need to confirm their email address, thus agreeing to receive information from the Engineers Academy. The Student will receive instructions on how to access the Sample Lessons via email, as well as additional information about the Engineers Academy and our Courses. If the Student fails to confirm their Email Address, then instructions on how to access Sample Lessons will not be sent to their email address. In addition, they will not receive any further emails from the Engineers Academy.

Students will have the option to remove their email address from the Autoresponder at any time (“Opt-out”). There will be a link in every email that is sent, so that the Student can Opt-out of the Email Autoresponder.

STUDENT PASSWORDS

Password Policy

Engineers Academy adopts and enforces a password policy, to ensure the passwords used by students, assessors and administrators meet minimum guidelines and expectations. As such, all chosen passwords must be more than 8 characters and must include a capital letter, a number and a special character, as a minimum. 10 subsequent incorrect attempts at an account password will result in the account being locked.

Password Creation and Security

Although Engineers Academy LTD have policies and processes in place to support you in creating secure passwords, some general guidance may also be valuable.  In general, we advise the following:

  1. Always choose passwords of 8 or more characters (no maximum length) with a capital letter, a number and a special character as minimum.
  2. Do not use common passwords (such as ‘password123’), or passwords that could be detected by someone with access to your basic personal information (such as ‘andy2002’). Instead, choose passwords that combine multiple words or phrases, and / or capital letters, numbers and special characters.
  3. Do not reuse any password that may have previously been compromised.
  4. Do not use the same password for multiple accounts and services. Instead, develop variations using a system or approach that only you will remember.
  5. If you need to write down or save passwords, then ensure they are not accessible by others. They should either be locked away safely, or protected in a secure folder on your device.

STUDENT ACCESS

Subscription Courses

When purchasing Subscription Courses, the Customer will choose a Username and Password which they can used to access their Customer Account and manage their Subscriptions.

The Student's Username(s) and Password(s) will be selected by the Customer after an order has been placed.

If the Customer and the Student are one and the same, then the Username and Password selected when making the purchase will be used for the Customer Account and Student Login.

Customers have the right to cancel Subscriptions at any time. Student access will be revoked at the time of cancellation of the Subscription.

Higher Level Courses

After a Student’s application has been approved, they will be assigned a Higher Level Course start date. On the Course start date, they will be able to access their Higher Level Courses on the Website or via the App, with the Username and Password chosen, or assigned to them (by the Customer) when purchasing a Subscription to the Bridging Courses.

Sample Lessons

Students will be able to access the Sample Lessons by following the instructions in the initial email, sent by us, to the confirmed email address, after Opt-in. In this instance, the Student chooses the Username and Password on Sign Up.

If you are an owner of an account (Customer or Student) on the Engineers Academy Website and / or App, then you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your private user details (Username and Password). It is forbidden for any Student on any Course to share their Username and Password with any other person(s).

A messaging facility is available through the Study Platform, which should only be used for communication relating to Engineers Academy courses and course materials. Students are prohibited from using the messaging facility for any unauthorised or unsolicited contact with other users on the Study Platform.

Messages sent through the messaging facility are monitored by Engineers Academy, to ensure appropriate use by Students.

In the unlikely event that a Student receives an unauthorised or unsolicited email or message, they should report this immediately by contacting their Assessor, or by emailing Engineers Academy on report@engineers.academy

Misuse of Resources and Content

All Engineers Academy resources are intended for the sole purpose of academic study for current, authorised and registered users only. Any unauthorised or alternative use is strictly prohibited. WEEKLY REPORTING

Students on all Courses will receive a weekly progress report (“Student Report(s)”) via email. The Student Reports will be sent at 5PM GMT and will outline the Student's progress in the preceding week, as well as their overall progress since the start of the Course. In addition, the report will include percentage grades for all sets of attempted practice questions. This feature will be automatically enabled when a Student is enrolled on to a course and cannot be disabled without un-enrolling the Student.

We can make arrangements for a Customer (e.g. assessor, employer, manager, etc.) to receive a weekly summary report (“Group Report(s)”) for a group of Students who are accountable to the Customer, providing the Students do not object. The Group Report will be sent at 5PM GMT and will provide a summary of the progress of the accountable Students in the preceding week, as well as their overall progress since the start of the Course.
